Thanks to all who put in such a valiant transmitting effort today!

I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to get dry enough to get the
car into the field to listen, but finally I had a marginally adequate path
that not only got me in, but also let me get back out without calling for
outside help, too. That only left me about an hour before the planned
shutdowns, and I had to spend a fair amount of that backing off various gain
adjustments. Attached is one of the better captures with everybody in the
picture. (Just two more minutes and I would have had a final B from XEB,
rather than a D. HI.)

QRN was much better here today than Wednesday. There were only infrequent
crashes 2 or 3 S-units above AGC threshold this time. In this screenful,
the relative received strengths reported by Argo in dB were:
XKO -41
MP -47
XEB -51
XNS -54
XES -63

MP remained nearly constant until I went to look at other things somewhere
between 3:30 and 4 PM Central, but XNS and XES both lost about 3 dB by that
time. Median value of noise at frequencies where it appeared sufficiently
random was around -77 dB. I began having trouble distinguishing XES at 30
seconds slow by the end, but it was still fairly clear on the 60 second
screen.
