And finally, some of my later 137.78 captures of the evening. Earlier in
the afternoon, the three stations varied in level by a couple of dB
according to Argo, but remained in much the same proportion to each other
overall. I went up to 1750m for an hour and a half, and when I came back to
2200 just before sunset, things had changed quite significantly. Even with
occasional static crashes 3 and 4 S-units above the AGC threshold, all three
stations would have been easily decodable in QRSS3.
During the QRSS30 capture, I kept having to back the receiver output and
Argo's sensitivity down. XKO was about 8 dB stronger than the other two,
but MP and XGJ were both within a dB of each other by that time. Not sure
what to make of that, but it was pretty neat to see. Not bad for the first
impromptu test!
