JD;
Guess you spent some time out there while weather was barable. It's 40 plus here today and still 40 right now! Supposed to be getting rain before it gets colder on Monday.
Joe is really cranking on Hartmut's grabber. He is over 2000 km closer to Europe and 2000 km further away from you. Reason of course for sigs difference.
I got e mails from a couple of the French fellas and they told me they would be watching all evening. The more TX stations that show up the more that will attract receivers of course. Interesting tomorrow when they all show their captures.

And here are the guys above the powerhouse signals. The noise level at 2200
m increased dramatically during the evening, so I figured there wouldn't be
much more to see than what I already had. I was about to pack everything
up and call it a night, when suddenly there was XNS, so I decided to
continue.
Having stitched these together, and going back and looking at the one
pre-sunset capture, I can see that what I suspected was XES actually is, but
I would have done better to be viewing in 60-second mode for it. The others
were strong enough that I had settled on 30 seconds for that Argo instance.
At sunset, the total of signal and typical band noise was under S1, with
occasional crashes to S9. By the time of this capture, the signals were
loud enough that I could watch the beat note fluctuating the S-meter between
S1 and S2...but static to S5 was frequent, and crashes are above S9 fairly
often. That's presumably the big area of thunderstorms in the Gulf. (Wish
I'd been able to get the loop antenna done before last weekend's ice storm
so I could null that out, but no time to build anything then and it's too
soggy now.)
