Well - after being off line for about three weeks or so I came back to a number of issues - most of which have been repaired - loose nuts and bolts on MFJ equipment (nothing new there) - Moose damage, wind damage, snow and drift (now which lump of snow is hiding the LF coupler?) and why do intert jot flexed cables inside the shack that havent been an issue always fail when left alone..

Im monitoring LF MF and VLF (wideband and 8970) and appear not to be too plagued by Christmas lights - just the fenceless dog fence clutter of old. Snaps as availalble on http://kl7l.com/Alaska.html

Conditions - well looking at 137 I can see DCF39 has been quite reasonable early in the evenings AK time and certainly audible but just not strong enough for Eu detection - and MF has been generally poor to date. Im looking to put up another VE7SL clone loop just for MF way ways away from the large TX loop but I bet Im still going to get some coupling.

The large TX loop is down at the moment so I cant transmit - just have to wait for the temps to rise a bit before it can be hauled up again - the central 80 foot Spruce tree that provides some support has a definite worrysome lean going on , and Im wondering if its got the Spruce Bark Beetle disease.

Ive not seen anything coming in from the West at all which is kind of surprising (any mode) but with the occasional top up from one solar event to the next I think we are going to be lucky to see much this year. Visual aurora still nearly occur all the time

My new deck passed the Mamma Moose test with one on it last night trying to eat the unlit Christmas wreath -

Seasons greetings and looking for the days to start getting longer -
