Thanks for the correction, Andy!  That's a more complete text than what I 
found and downloaded recently, quoted in my earlier post.  Now I see why 
Doug asked the question, and evidently it is ALL template matching and NO 
decoding in the usual sense.  Sigh.  Sorry to mislead you, Doug, and I'm 
also sorry to learn that my prior somewhat cynical view of how OPDS works is 
even more true than I first suspected.

That puts us back into the situation of comparing apples with orangutans, 
unfortunately, which I had briefly hoped there was a way out of.  How DO you 
fairly compare "sensitivity" of a program that can _only_ report a match-up 
to something it already knows to expect, against other software that 
actually decodes the transmitted information?

At a bare minimum, we ought to at least refrain from using the misleading 
word "decode" for an OPDS match.
