Hi Dex:

Sorry so long to reply.. I am at work today, so have some time in front of the keyboard..

I could locate a loop, which I happen to have.. a Wellbrook 3 foot loop, and put it about
80 feet away from the nearest power line.. but it would be totally surrounded by trees
if that matters for a receive loop ?? The loaded 160 meter dipole picks up lots of " stuff "
it is certainly not discriminatory in any way.. It lets the noise come thru just as it does
signals ... hi - hi

My family is constantly dragging in some new toy with it's wall wart QRN generator,
and it is a never ending battle against the noise.. Interestingly for me anyway; the
lower I go in frequency, I now notice QRN from my washing machine, and HVAC unit !!
I can hear the spark when the thermostats in the dryer kick in and out too...

I wonder if 32 GHz would be any quiter ?? ... lol

 Andy,

What is the most distant point from your home
 and power lines that you
 could locate an
 antenna?

 Dex
