thanks John - a lot of effort!
Nothing from Bob over here on the Pacific side on 74 - just blurry non lines
Weve had cold winds and blowing/drifting snow here with temps around -20F and I see the K>4 and Proton up again so will be looking out for Aurora again == nothing on 137 or 474 at the moment -- looks like being poorish for a while.
I did get out to start to put clips up for the Christmas lights but the tips of my fingers were going that nasty yellowish color (colour) so came in and gave up.

The signal just got better and better during the evening. By the time I
returned to the field, it was overloading QRSS60 and generating a lot of
fuzz on 30, too. So, I cranked Argo's sensitivity way down further and let
another ID cycle go by, with this result.
This is even with the increased post-sunset noise. Static was averaging S3,
ranging +/- 2 units, with occasional peaks above S9 in a 250 Hz bandwidth.
The signal itself was not visible on the meter, even during brief quiet
spells in the noise, but was impeccably clear on screen.
I've switched to the 1750 meter watering hole now, with SIW immediately
visible. (Static at 1750m is averaging only S1 here, with peaks to S3, but
of course the signals are more feeble by an even greater ratio.) I'd love
to let it run all night and see if I can snag SJ again, and TAG for the
first time this year. But apart from the gear not being secure enough to
leave unattended for more than a few minutes, I just don't have the strength
to heft the generator down there and back one more time tonight to recharge
the computer again. <insert tired old geezer emoticon here>
John
