First has anyone heard from Paul Dalton , in Arkansas recently ? I e-mailed him and it was returned saying his inbox was full . I
was going to personally inquire as to the status of his beacon .
Can anyone tell me which LowFER beacons are currently actually on the air ? Also mode and frequency if available .
Charles Wenzel , of Austin , Texas , and myself are making changes to our receiving setups and need to find out what is actually
on the air , instead of spending hours of listening if the beacon isn't on . Right now the closer to either of us the better so we can
confirm that our receiving systems are actually working and so we can fine tune them .
Charles has a new converter he is trying that specifically converts the watering hole , down to directly feeding a sound card . He
also has some parts on order to put him a LowFER transmitting antenna up , so we will have a Texas station on this season . I "think"
his call will be TLB , to represent his hobby electronics page , and Yahoo group , www.techlib.com
Still putting the finishing touches on the new CV transmitter for this season , which will be almost a carbon copy of my 630 meter
transmitter . Digital multi mode , with a DDS VFO and GPS disciplined . I too am waiting on another antenna pole to come in , so I can
have separate antennas for the LowFER beacon and the 630 meter station .
Looking forward to starting the LowFER listening season a bit early if there is anyone besides TAG on . I think Gary is on too , but
I have not yet been able to confirm it with a capture .
A live grabber of the watering hole with an ARGO display with Charles's converter and also on the same page a display with his SLM
is available as long as there is no lightning in the Austin , Texas area , at : http://www.techlib.com/slm.htm ( manual refresh required)
Hope to see many of you soon .
Charlie , W5COV , ( CV )
