My friend , Charles Wenzel , in Austin , Texas , has designed and built a
nice stable converter specifically designed to convert the LowFER watering
hole , down to be used with any sound card .
He will be testing it this week . I have one under construction , and will
have it finished hopefully this week , when my counter chips arrive .
So if you don't have a receiver for the watering hole , but do have a
computer , here is a cheap and easy way to get your feet wet with the fun of
listening to the watering hole , here is a simple way to use ARGO and join
the group .
It is a work in progress , but is currently up and running from Charles's
home in Austin , TX . The URL for it is :

Nothing too big and no difficult to find parts to build it . If you need the
oscillator module , drop Charles or myself a note and we will gladly send
you one free of charge .
Charles has some other LF plus various other projects on his hobby web page
:

Look under the circuits tab on the main page for even more projects as well
as his works in progress page .
He also has a GREAT simple to build SID receiver , if you want the ability
to monitor solar flares right on your home computer , that performs as well
as the government and educational institutions monitors . I consider it a
MUST for all radio users , both receiving and transmitting . It uses WWVB as
the reference signal so that is about as good of a station that you are
going to find in the USA for reliability .
