Started the evening around local sunset with nice WSJT-X decodes of
WG2XJM on mode WJ9-10 running 50mW ERP at 494.4 kHz+1100 Hz on a 686 km
path. Despite the big storm on the east coast, the lightning map at
http://thunderstorm.vaisala.com/explorer.html was nearly empty and the
noise floor here was pretty decent.

The last two nights spent a fair amount of time monitoring Navtex on 518
kHz. This produced messages from 15 different stations (11 in region 4
and 4 in region 12). Best catch was $04M in Simiutaq/Cape Farewell,
Greenland at 1000Z, thanks to $04N Chesapeake, Virginia holding off
transmission a few minutes and perhaps a propagation boost from storm
Sandy. Other good catches were $12D Prince Rupert, BC at 0834Z and $12J
Kodiak, AK at 0933Z.
