Nice copy of the QRSS10 transmissions by WA2XRM on 480.049 kHz around
0800Z. Also noted a new (to me) oil platform NDB: A8XM4 on 312 kHz with
+406 Hz offset and 9.75 sec interval. QTH apparently is in the Gulf of
Mexico south of New Orleans.
518 kHz Navtex signals are confusingly "busy" around 0910Z. At that time
3 stations signing "H" are scheduled: 2 in region 4 (Wiarton/Prescott,
ON and Curacao) and 1 in region 12 (Torfino, BC). Usually Wiarton blasts
over the other two but last night it delayed sending long enough for
Torfino to decode a message. Then although no decode at 0930Z Kodiak, AK
($12J) was evident for the first time since last winter. Signals from
the west are still good this morning as Long Beach ($12Q) just produced
several decodes.
Andy's lowfer grabber worked find all night but I didn't notice any
signals in there. Checked a couple of times here and got the same -
nothing. SIW spent the night on 185.185 kHz but will be back at the
watering hole for the next two nights.
