That's a lot of ferrite. ;-)

Zack, I think you will find the AMRAD "e-probe" (active whip) design to be
a very good performer at VLF/LF. I have been using active whips for several
years now with very good results.

Just place it away from local interference and away from trees, buildings,
and other large objects. It is also helpful to install common mode chokes
in the coaxial connection to the antenna.

Ralph Burhans knew his stuff.

Not taking anything away from ferrite loops, mind you. I'm hoping to do
some experimenting with them sometime "soon".
