Hey Pat. Couple of things to check:
Make sure your receiver is set to USB, and that it is tuned to 1500 Hz
below the transmit frequency of the station you are trying to receive. I'm
at work and can't remember exactly what the WSPR software interface looks
like, but IIRC you input your receiver dial frequency in the top box, and
your transmit frequency (even if you aren't transmitting) goes in the
bottom box, which should be the same frequency as the station you are
trying to receive.
If you are running Windows 7, you can click on the clock on the far right
side of the taskbar and set it to automatically keep your computer's clock
synced with an internet time standard.
