>>>Plain old QRSS 6 on 136.745 with WD2XGJ
I went out to the field after getting this message and watched as the signal
gradually worked its way up in level. I was just starting to see individual
letters come through pretty well by 6:30 pm CST, an hour and a half after
local sunset, when suddenly WD2XGJ and a carrier 5 Hz above it both
vanished. I stepped out of the car and checked connections at the antenna
and buffer, then even tried changing mode and speed in Argo to see if I
could bring anything up from the noise. After about 8 minutes, I started to
see traces of both signals again, but at much lower levels than they were
before.
Both WWVB and DCF77 were coming in about the same as prior to the event.
(In fact, DCF77 was clearer than it was over the weekend.) MP at 137.7806
was more at daytime levels than nighttime, but WMS at 185.3015 was about
average.
