A little background...  I took it down because of an apparent fault due to 
driving freezing rain.  It turns out the beacon was fine.  My antenna and 
support mast was not optimum, so I have different design ideas.

The beacon will be mounted in a metal can with battery, solar charger and 
solar panel.  It will be mounted in a 21' or 24' pole, depending on what I 
pull from the pile and the condition of the mast.  Antenna will be a pair of 
inverted V dipoles also acting as guys for the mast.  I will most likely 
have a 180º power divider between what will be N-S and E-W orientated 
antennas.

Beacon mode will be "RPG" in QRSS3 and 10 WPM CW, alternating.

At first I will be putting my Epson Oscillator HiFER beacon back up, yhe 
original RPG design.  I have recently purchased some solderable prototyping 
board and will duplicate the beacon with options for secondary modulation 
inputs and ESD protection.  I also have plans for a crystal controlled 
version with varactor tuning and modulation control.  So many projects, so 
little time....

The beacon will physically be located in Stagecoach, Nevada, about fifteen 
minutes drive East from Dayton, Nevada.
