Not the ideal time of day for monitoring, perhaps, but this is probably the
quietest that static levels will be for the next few days. I did this
capture in one continuous screen, switching from 185.3 to 137.78 once I had
a full capture of WMS, and there was MP waiting to be caught. I have no
doubt siw would have been prominent too, had it been on. (Needless detail
has been blanked out so the image would compress enough to pass through the
reflector.)
VLF looked to be pretty good around the same time. Only one time slot of
each Alpha frequency seems to be in use today, so tuning from lowest to
highest yields pseudo-Morse E, E, E, rather than the E, M, and S pattern of
busier days. No TACAMO noted at the times I was watching this morning, but
plenty of PSK or FSK, and one unfamiliar unmodulated carrier. Will look
into those signals further this afternoon, weather permitting.
