Here's the 'quick start' ...
Open the STANAG.set file (in the same folder as the program) in Wordpad and edit the lines to be
8000
1500
*leave as is*
10
1
*leave as is*
Save the file.
Shut the program down if already running and restart. The program will then access the new
STANAG.set information.
Tune the receiver to 498 kHz in USB mode.
If you are within groundwave range (or receiving a strong signal via an ionospheric layer) the
correlation display at the bottom should show a tall peak with smaller peaks on each side. Put the
cursor on the tall peak and left click the mouse.
A horizontal line should appear in the Correl-O-Gram ... but it may have some tilt. Use the clock
offset buttons to the right to remove the tilt. You may have to repeat the step above to get the
horizontal line back to zero.
A station within groundwave distance will see the horizontal groundwave line and possibly a second
line above that is the reflection from the ionosphere. The time delay to and from the reflective
layer of the ionosphere is shown on the vertical scale. Chances are you are not seeing any
groundwave due to the distance between us so you may see only one horizontal line ... unless another
higher up layer is also reflecting the signal.
Hope this helps get you started.
Jay
