No doubt my current antenna is a bit small, but I can only receive signals
below AMBC when I disconnect the co-ax shield, which allows noise
from the shack to get into the receiver.
What I have is a receiver looking for 50 Ohms, 135' of 50 Ohm co-ax to an HF
dipole. Reception below 500 KHz or so is zilch unless I disconnect the
co-ax and put a piece of paper in the connection to prevent the shell from
touching. When I do this, I can hear all sorts of signals, quite well from
30 KHz up.
