One of the interesting things I've found out here in NE Okie is the dx nature of the PLC tones.

 I can hear and see the same PLC /Variable AC drive musical  signals emanating from  here (40 over 9 under some power lines  and some audible 30 miles to the West - and even when 5 miles from the nearest power lines. Part 15 maybe..but I was a little surprised.

When in Singapore and using binoculars I could correlate Crane activity and its musical variable warblings at 137khz  some 5 mile distant...pretty decent verticals/earths -  some of the AC power drives had..

   John it has rained here all week and I have not had a chance to 
repair my rec loop, but I should hear you on the longwire. Freq is 
clear on the loop as it is displaced from the other antennas(pa0rdt 
mini whip and long wire). I just need to reglue one joint to repair the 
loop. 

   Let me know when you fire up the beacon on 185.290.

Down at 137.78 there was plenty of MP to be seen (attached), and in the

BTW--Does anyone have any particularly annoying PLCs in their vicinity right
on 185.290? That's where I am likely to be this weekend if all goes well. 
Still not at all happy with my temporary "stealth" antenna tuning
arrangement. It's gonna be lossier than Lehman Brothers. But maybe
somebody will catch a glimpse of it.
