>>> Best I can tell WMS is still on.

Have no fear, it's booming in here! :)

...along with fair reception of SIW and traces of WM, for that matter. The
curvature is due to the impromptu nature of this listening session, which
meant the receiver wasn't fully warmed up when I got to the field. I hadn't
done any monitoring for a week, spending all my time working on Lowdown
material. Now that I'm done with it, I was going to turn in early tonight
until I read your message, Paul. Those looked like mighty rough storms on
radar yesterday night!

As soon as I got to the field I remembered to undo the shorting hook. So,
it was a considerable shock to find _nothing_ on 60 kHz but sferics. Tuned
up to 77.5 quickly--nothing. Some of the FSK signals were still present,
though, so I tuned around some more. There was JJY on 40 kHz just fine, and
my reference NDBs all seemed normal, so I decided it wasn't the antenna or
radio...but there was nothing at all to be heard from Europe on LF, and
apparently WWVB was off for maintenance right then. Had me spooked for a
little while.
