Hi all:

A fair night of catches on 600 meters... Last night, The neighbors dog chewed my pull-up rope in-to,
and one end on the windom is on the ground..now explains the erratic power excursions I was having
last night.. So listening on the leg that's on the ground, which happens to be the long side; reception
wasn't really too bad.. The static crashes were much less noticable to start than on the leg that is
still in the air.. First: Bob - XGR/6 was +10 dB over, but I was hearing a chattering distortion on his
signal.. It ended up being the latest version of OPERA overloading the CPU.. I found that when I
went to a 200 Hz filter to att. Bobs signal and hear John - XGR/3, and Jay - XGR/2 better in OPERA
mode.. But their signals were chattering too, so I knew something was wrong.. I unplugged the line
to the PC, and listened thru the radio speaker, and all signals were pristine.. I switched OPERA off,
and the signal cleared right up thru the PC also.. Maybe todays update will be better..Even with the
chatter, and overloaded CPU; I still got several decodes from both OPERA signals..
Started scanning the band and nothing heard in the upper portion.. Found Pat - XSH/6 on 495.028
in QRSS-3, and slow CW ( grid em50ki  Longbeach mississippi ) about 4 by 8 with QSB..0630 UTC
XSH/31 - Brians rig pounding away on 477.900 around 12 wpm maybe, around 0655 UTC, slight
frequency movement, but very strong signal here even thru the static...Storm system about an hour
away, and moving my direction, rain beginning to pour outside, and I'm ready to hit the hay..

73 all, and have a super weekend: As an old aquaintance W2IQ now a SK used to say when he would
shut down on 3885 A.M. " This is W2IQ, the Intelligent Quack, in Dandridge, TN now signing, and saying;
diddle - dee - day - dee -day "  ......
