I did venture back out to the field after about 0330 UTC and found DK7FC
still coming in nicely. That continued to be the case for over two hours,
after which I switched my attention to other things.

Unfortunately, the powerline buzz was also still present. In the afternoon
it was plaguing more bands, such as the 70 kHz vicinity and even around 600
meters. Tonight it was concentrated mainly from 170-210 khz, and didn't let
up at any point during my attempts to pull anyone out of the noise. Only
hints of WMS and SIW made it through. As for LWBC, the noise was enough to
bury Iceland and Europe 1, but France Inter was just enough below the noise
frequency band that it was nicely audible...although the intermittent
lightning crashes were again disruptive, maybe more so than the past few
nights.

I tuned on up toward 600 meters at midnight, where I had magnificent solid
copy of WD2XSH/31 on 477.90. Even here, intermittent static crashes
exceeded S9, but the signal itself was S7, so the signal was always good and
clear!

At 476.3 kHz, I copied Ralph's (/7) amateur speed Morse code message easily
enough, parts of the commercial speed message once my ears synced up, and
then I played with MultiPSK and eventually got 100% copy on that part of
each message cycle as well. (MultiPSK also decoded enough of the high speed
CW that I was also able to fill in the blanks in my copy of that mode.)
First time I've really had a good chance to play with the program since
installing it...and I must say, time has not made the crowded menu fields
any clearer or less chaotic in my mind, but it certainly does work well once
you click the right buttons.
