[Lowfer] Lowfers and more over night

Got best copy for quite awhile of lowfer WMS at the watering hole around 
midnight. Meanwhile, visual WM was just noticeable. Usually the 
situation is reversed. Tried to decode TAG but only locked onto the 
right frequency but BR was good throughout the night on 185.578 kHz.

E and W signals were spotty, but signals to the S were up. Copied the 
DGPS station in Panama on 302 kHz for the first time in awhile around 
1000Z. Other stations decoded were 340, NL on 288 kHz; 55, NM on 291 
kHz; 175, UT, on 303 kHz; 63, MT on 313 kHz; 69, WA on 316 kHz; and 65, 
AZ on 319 kHz.

Didn't begin looking at 518 kHz for Navtex signals until 1030Z and 
little was decoded (San Francisco just once). By this time lightning 
activity in Arkansas was hurting the noise floor.

WSPR signals from WD2XSH/12 and /15 were good around 0700Z when I 
looked. VX9BDQ was active too up frequency but nothing was seen here.

Last evening produced excellent VLF signals. JXN on 16.4 kHz hasn't been 
seen here often of late but it was strong around 0500Z. Most of the 
sources listed by Jay at http://www.w1vd.com/vlf.html were in there 
(India and Turkey were exceptions). Higher up CKN was noted on both 76.2 
and 124 kHz. Thanks Scott for mentioning the latter frequency. I've 
noted CKN there before but don't often look.

Bob, WE2XGR/6 was strong in the early evening on WSPR with the dial at 
498 kHz. But a timing advance probably made decoding a bit harder than 
usual. Wasn't sure which end had the problem but I see Todd and David 
also decoded with -2 second or so TDs. The timing offset is strange 
because Bob uses a NIST server to set his clock.
