Enjoyed the daylight wolf tests on 506.5 kHz (WE2XGR/2, 1271 km) and
137.294 kHz (WD2XES, 1361 km) yesterday. That mode shows what can be
gained with linear operation. Switched to Opera in time to make a few
decodes of the very strong signal from WE2XGR/6 on 500 kHz, then tuned
up to 504 kHz to look for VX9BDQ. Best decode was -20 dB at 0604Z on a
path of 2787 km. Ended the night looking at the 185.3 kHz watering hole
with an omnidirectional e-probe. Visual WM was in there weakly most of
the time but didn't catch even a hint of WMS. That wasn't surprising
because lowfer BR was just noticeable - usually it's good enough to copy
the CW.
