[Lowfer] MP Loop antenna reconfigured

I recall the original 1 cable #8 required around 9nF to resonate but adding 4 X #6 and #8 required 12nF or so. It was a lot of copper and loops diverged by a few feet depndant on which branch of the Cottonwoods the slingshot put a weight over - ! an increased the signal around 1.5dB was realized - again this from memory.

Ground screens beneath loop to reduce ground losses....experiment :-)

Ive just installed 2 x 3 ft widths x 150ft long , separated by 5 ft or so of welded fence wire parallel to the loop on the ground and bonded to each other and then tied down to a Well bore casing - it was getting dark so I couldnt play long but it resulted in a reduction of some 200pf to resonate the main loop - loop current remained the same as expected.

We will see what differences it makes when the wx improved - it just started snowing... All "grounds" are isolated back to the coax so it is a reactance change at least.

Cheers
Laurence
