So I wonder what the results would be if the feedine was choked well 
right at the base of the amp?


I built a MPF102 amp with a 3 foot whip years ago.  I don't believe I 
ever tried it for VLF but will see what the results are compared to the 
mini whip when I locate it.  I do remember it was a good performer for 
LFBC and Lowfer reception when mounted on the roof of my van.  It's 
built inside a gutted NMO VHF mobile matching coil using the 150 MHz whip.
