Hi Jay interesting observation. I have not taken as much interest in VLF as
LF, but it is possible that with very long paths, where part may be in
daylight, the received strength may benefit from the extra electrons
precipitated into the D-layer after a geomagnetic event. We hav seen some
effects on 136 a day or so after a geomagnetic event, but at VLF where the
waveleenth is much longer the effect could bee more pronounced. I have seem
upwards of 6 to 10dB enhancement at 136kHz mid day on relatively short
paths.
