[Lowfer] Checking In

Out in the field today, NC, RY and MP were holding forth admirably on HF.
Thought I saw traces of some dits and dahs several Hz above RY this
afternoon, but couldn't make a positive ID. When I went back out this
evening, only the "big three" were there, and they began fading not long
after dark.

MP was reasonably good this afternoon on 137 kHz but was buried under noise
this evening. While experimenting with other modes, I accidentally saw
somebody or something on 137.796, but I only caught a final 30 second dot.
Nothing else over the next 15 or 20 minutes that I watched.

On 495, Ralph and Pat were both coming in remarkably well, both before and
after dark. QRN was surprisingly moderate, considering the racket on LF
this evening. QRSS60 was serious overkill ! Even with a signal normally
much weaker than Ralph's, Pat's 3-second dots were giving perfect copy.
