The K12 must be programmed by a 2 switch method of some sort.. Paddles, a hacksaw blade between 2 nails,
In my case I have momentary pushbuttons out of an old VCR wired together in a string.. One is the command
switch, and the other 2 are the " dit " and " dah " buttons... It's a tiny bit awkward, but it works...

John,
Keep in mind that with the k12 you now have the flexibility of changing
the i.d. (for example switching between QRSS 30 and QRSS 60). I am pretty
sure that you program it with a straight key.
I would be willing to program a K12 keyer for anyone on the list
uncomfortable with doing so.
