Yes ... I use a preamplifier on the on the K9AY. In the winter on a quiet night, the 'background' 
noise from the antenna alone only marginally overides the noise of the RF-590 receiver .... which 
has a relatively high noise floor.

WOW !!! If Only that good here ... I have been wanting to ask you if you use a preamp on your

I'm not really sure if one would help, or hurt here, using my windom to receive with ...

very early...
Usually don't see the signal till around 11:30 pm EST...
