Listened on 123 kHz and found a faint carrier, but couldn't see or hear any
modulation. (I even remembered to remove the shorting strap.)
Checked 137.78 and MP was there. Nobody showed up on 1750 meters this
afternoon. For a while I got all excited about what appeared to be a slowly
keyed carrier on 185.3025, but at that point we were having some static of
unlknown origins which was apparently breaking up the trace at random
intervals. When the noise faded away, it turned out to merely be a steady
carrier.
HiFERs MP, SIW, USC, and NC were in just as good as usual. Might have been
some Doppler shift from the 40+ MPH wind whipping my antenna around, though.
:)
The wind advisory was supposed to expire in a few minutes, but I can't see
any sign of it dying down yet. If it does, I'll head back to the field in a
couple of hours and try some more.
John
