And here's how it looked in HiFER country in late afternoon, following the 
nice daylight LowFER reception.

SIW and MP were actually audible most of the time.  The normal speed CW 
ident of SIW shows up nicely, but was sometimes hard to follow by ear.  The 
MP CW ident was almost impossible _not_ to copy by ear.

USC was clear again today, though not audible as much of the time as either 
SIW or MP.  There is also a little fading near the end of the capture.  When 
I located NC, it appeared to be alternating between 13555.593 and .597 
today, with significant level fluctuations.  Nothing from the West today.

My next foray was to mediumwave, then a surprising encounter at LF in Part 
3.
