[Lowfer] Trying a different antenna configuration here tonite - looks good so far

Never base anything on a single night of experiment, but better reception at this point in time.
I have been clipping the center pin, and shield of the HF Windom coax together, and connecting
it to a loading coil, then peaking the receive with an air variable to ground on the antenna side.
That has worked fairly well for me, but curiousity got me to wondering if I could " Load " BOTH
sides of the Windom, and tune each side to resonance, and if I could, would I see any usable
improvement in received signal strength... Thanks to Warren; I was able to find out with a
hearable signal on 1750 meters... After I found the best settings of each slug tuned coil, and
air variable for each side of the Windom; I had a 1 S-Unit increase in Warrens signal.. It was very
easy to switch back and forth between the two antenna configurations, and every time, the
dual loading coil setup would produce the extra S-Unit on Warrens signal... He was rag-chew
copy here tonite...I moved up to the Watering-Hole to monitor overnight.. I never have done well
receiving " WMS " , of course I can't control propagation, but the S-meter is showing 1 S-Unit more
band noise with the dual loading coils.. Hopefully, I'll have some eager to report about captures
for tomorrow...

73 all, and good night:
