Excellent work, Mark!
I listened again from a little before 9:00 to nearly 10:00 PM tonight, and
had great success with RY. This time, however, nothing was seen of NC.
There were a couple of times I thought I might be seeing something from
AZ/NDB (the former being his QRSS3 ident and the latter his conventional CW
version), but there was a carrier less than a Hertz away that was mighty
strong here.
I'm lucky to have good signal from WWV 10 MHz most of the time for
calibration. Only rarely do I experience Doppler effects on that frequency,
but 15 can get awfully messy. (I seldom hear 20 MHz at all, except once in
a while faintly from Hawaii... although today Fort Collins was doing
splendidly on 20 as well for a change.) Anyway, I'm glad to be able to use
10 MHz regularly here. After nulling the soundcard error in Argo itself,
using the 440, 500 and 600 Hz tones from WWV, the error that remains is
solely due to the receiver master oscillator, which is convenient to
calculate with a 10 MHz reference.
