[Lowfer] Warming up the ears...

WMS is down on power, about 20 db here in the shack. I suspect one of
the finals is out. I will try to get it changed out this week. My
brother in law, his wife, son, daughter, soninlaw and grandson had to
leave their homes on the Hollis family farm 7 miles east of DesArc , Ar
yesterday due to concerns that the levee on the White River might fail.
Nephew is staying with us the rest of the family is with other
relatives. I live 7 miles NW of Jacksonville Ar at an unincorporated
community called Warsaw at the junction of AR107 and AR89. Both routes
into town are underwater in places today. Yard is saturated which
affects my beacon. May have to wait a few days before retuning. Tower
held up in 65 to 75 mph winds this week, trees down in most of my
neighbors yards, I only have two pines in my front yard but they held
up.Lots of damage at LRAFB housing and a three of the C-130s damaged.
LRAFB is 4 miles south. Vilonia 10 miles to the north was wiped out.
Last night heavy rain from 10:30 to 4:00 am. Water standing on my patio
within 6 inches of the house. Worst I have seen in the 25 years I have
lived here!

Final transistor failure is common with my beacon in t'storms.
Lightning friday night hit pole transformer about 1/4 mile away. I
loose about half dozen sets a week. 2n2222 and 2n2907 are cheap so its
no problem.

Thanks for asking JD
