As a followup on the lowfer list, and a report to the 600 meter
group.. After discovering that I had a bad coax connector on my
antenna coax, and repairing it, I ran WSPR on 160 meters for a
few hours and immediately saw that I had a 7 dB increase in my
WSPR SNR on both TX, and RX. I went to 600 meters and matched
the antenna and the increase in signals is incredible. I am
audibly hearing all 3 XSH WSPR stations and Ralph - /7 is
running a continuous S-9 +5 dB here in Friendsville, TN.
The signals are so strong that I am getting 2, and 3 line
decodes at times, +/- 30 Hz from the carrier.. UnBelievable !!!
I didn't know the coax connector was bad, but I am glad I found out
it was.. I had no idea what I " Wasn't " hearing...
