Andy,

You witnessed "battery death" on SIW. The keyer and logic run off a 5 V 
regulator so no problem with them, but the OCXO needs a decent battery 
voltage. It's been mainly overcast many days now and the small solar 
panel wasn't doing much to recharge the batteries. NK9M has them on the 
bench charging as I write this and SIW should be QRV by this evening.

The noise last night made waterhole monitoring unattractive but I did 
find TACAMO on 18.9 kHz after 0500Z. The four short transmissions of 50 
baud RTTY (I think) were too weak to decode. They show up as blips on 
the KL7UK grabber. Thanks to David for pointing out this activity.
