Paul,
What is the Vcc to the final? With this value and the turns ratio I can give you and idea how efficient the loop is running (assuming 1w DC input to the final). BTW #12 is a my suggested gauge for a first loop because it is relatively easy to put up, connect to, and it should put out a respectable signal. Suggest RG-8 for the next step once the bugs are worked out and some confidence is gained.
