Thanks, Zack.  That makes it all worthwhile.

After I sent the pun, I got to wondering if anyone outside this region would 
realize the "a" in Paola has the long vowel sound.  (Just as Salina, Kansas, 
has a long "i" sound in it, but most media types elsewhere pronounce it the 
same as Salinas, CA, with the short "i.")

I even began to wonder if anyone else on the list was old enough to remember 
the payola and plugola scandals.  But you have restored my confidence.
