[Lowfer] AMRAD E-Field Probe VS Loops

Dick,
I had good luck with a 10' VE7SL shielded loop but didn't like all the
real estate it took. After I got a Clifton Labs e-probe and saw how good
it did I took the 10' loop down. However, I wanted the ability to point
nulls at strong sources so I recently put up a more modest 3' loop with
rotator. I find the e-probe at 25' and 3' loop perform comparably. But
despite the excellent 2nd order IM specs for the e-probe, I can't decode
WWVB time information with it due to WGN at 720 kHz and WBBM at 780 kHz.
The loop allows me to do that. It also allows me to decode certain DGPS
stations with co-channel issues. On the other hand, the
omnidirectionality of the e-probe lets me copy 495 kHz activity from
both the S and NE simultaneously.
