Many receivers are quite "deaf" below 200kHz, and/or full of spurs.
IMO, the best solution is any receiver that has good specs in the 3.0
- 3.5 MHz range (pretty much any halfway decent ham transceiver or
commercial shortwave receiver), coupled with a good LF converter. I
use one made by Todd Roberts, which is an AMRAD design with the
substitution of an OCXO, which provides exceptional frequency
stability. The receiver I pair it with is the Icom R-75 with some CW
filters and the TCXO option.
A couple of features you want to look for if you are going to attempt
to copy QRSS (extremely slow CW):
1 Hz frequency display resolution
good frequency stability
