Since I post a lot of images (maybe too many?) here's how I do it. This may be a good topic for
others that might be interested in sharing their captures here.
1) Make sure the desired screen (like Argo) has Window's focus (the top blue bar of the window will
be dark blue).
2) Press alt + print screen to copy the active window to the clipboard.
3) Open an image editor and press ctrl + V to paste the clipboard contents into the editor.
4) Crop the image to the important essentials and save it in a .jpg or .gif format. Check the saved
file size to see if it's ~35k or less. If not, go back and either increase the .jpg compression or
make the image smaller. For .jpg, compression amounts up to 50 seems to work well without serious
artifacts. Remember where you stored the image.
5) Use the e mail 'attach' function to browse to the file and attach the image to your post.
That's it. The 35k image plus a few k for the e mail itself will come in under 40k - which I believe
is the size limit set by the administrator. If you wish to post a larger image you'll have to host
it on a server where you have space available and include a URL link to it in you post. Example:
http://www.w1vd.com/argoupload.jpg
One final note. Always make sure that your attached image is 35k or less. If you attach a larger
image it will more than likely get bounced and end up with the administrator for his attention. We
really don't want to make additional (and needless) work him!
