Eric, after decoding TAG I did move to the watering hole but your signal
was weaker there, hi. I only looked for about an hour around midnight
and didn't quite see UWL, just "U_L" once. WMS was stronger and saw
those call letters twice. I've always had trouble with the WM beacons
but again pieces from both came through at times. My difficulty seeing
them is compounded by SIW synthesizer spurs, one near each beacon. I
didn't use to notice much of anything other than the main signal. The
local signal strength has picked up but perhaps the variometer needs a
touchup. It hasn't been peaked for months.
Didn't spend much time on 518 kHz last night but when I was monitoring
all looked well and I see no sign of trouble this morning.
Instead, I tuned around for DGPS stations. Didn't decode anything new
but it was nice to decode both Point Loma, CA and Miraflores (Panama) on
302 kHz. Tried for Fort Stevens, OR on 287 kHz but only got Polson, MT.
Supposedly there is a station in Pigeon Point, CA on too. All three send
100 bps from roughly the same direction so it's hard to separate them.
