Yup, that's what had me scratching my head for so long, too.  Until I got 
the whole sequence strong enough to compare element sizes in each character 
and accurately measure dot length, I couldn't deduce what some of the 
letters were.  Was that first long dash I saw at the lower frequency an "S" 
or an "H" or a '5"?  Without those little separating spaces, I had to get 
several characters on screen solidly before I could sort it out with any 
confidence.
