Hello, all...

I am out of the woodwork for a minute to reminisce.

I go back to the old days where there was no internet and the only way we
communicated was via the "Northern Observer", "The Lowdown" and a dial-up
BBS.

It is great to read the reports of people copying each others beacons. We
used to wait WEEKS just for a capture of anybody. Now you can get a 2 or
3-pack nightly, in some cases. And, of course, it isnt just CW anymore.

And it is all thanks to all the experimenters that cant leave well-enough
alone. At this time of year I would like to thank everyone for their
contributions. They have made the hobby great. I can not operate a beacon
or a receiver from my apartment QTH but I do love reading the emails on
this list. I live the hobby vicariously via the reception reports posted
here.
