I had a great afternoon and evening at the Tallgrass Praire research at Pawhuska Oklahoma yesterday. Not only is the wildlife great but not a lot of power lines.
Good signals from MP, XNS, XES, XKO, VE7SL, XGJ - and on 500 XSH/7 was audible at good CW read levels way before dusk. SL was actually visible weakly about an hour or more before dusk.
Here are some of my neighbors

and signals
http://kl7uk.com/mob.jpg not shown is XNS who came up a little later.
Second harmonic from the Cushing NDB of 242Khz was readable at 484kHz
Rig was R75 and antennae a W1VD version of the AMRAD probe and a quad mag mount with outer screen connected to car chassis - rent car was Mazda 5 and relatively quiet both a 137 and 500, just a slight amount of S1 hash from the processor at full accreleration.
