I hope--perhaps as soon as next spring--to be in a position to build a fair
sized workshop out there, with lots of storage space and a small apartment
(although it could be two years, depending on an awful lot of variables).
As soon as that happens, I can put the house in town up for sale. If or
when I finally get a buyer, then I can use the proceeds to build my eventual
cottage out there. That'll give me a built-in contingency plan with interim
living quarters during the marketing of the house, and I won't be at the
mercy of tight-fisted local lenders.
(Speaking of contingencies...even if it starts to look later than sooner for
the workshop, I hope to at least have a small portable shed out there by
next winter, off at the edge of the field, where I can have a little shelter
independently of the car for several hours at a time. Conduit is already
buried from my chosen spot to the antenna, awaiting some coax plus power &
control lines.)
If the price of soybeans stays up through the summer, who knows? It might
just become reality.
John
