I hope--perhaps as soon as next spring--to be in a position to build a fair 
sized workshop out there, with lots of storage space and a small apartment 
(although it could be two years, depending on an awful lot of variables). 
As soon as that happens, I can put the house in town up for sale.  If or 
when I finally get a buyer, then I can use the proceeds to build my eventual 
cottage out there.  That'll give me a built-in contingency plan with interim 
living quarters during the marketing of the house, and I won't be at the 
mercy of tight-fisted local lenders.

(Speaking of contingencies...even if it starts to look later than sooner for 
the workshop, I hope to at least have a small portable shed out there by 
next winter, off at the edge of the field, where I can have a little shelter 
independently of the car for several hours at a time.  Conduit is already 
buried from my chosen spot to the antenna, awaiting some coax plus power & 
control lines.)

If the price of soybeans stays up through the summer, who knows?  It might 
just become reality.
