Hello Stan and other LowFers:

I am posting this to keep you advised of current Genesis SDR radio activities
forthcoming. Current development activity is focused on the Genesis G11 project.

The G11 SDR transceiver will incorporate a new design to replace current monoband radios for 160 through 20 meters. The new versions, using unique bandpass design, will cover any 2 or 3 adjacent HF bands through 10 meters...or....137 khz and 500 khz as single bands. The LO will employ the Si570 chip and 90 % of the parts are pre assembled SMD's...the remaining parts assembled by the buyer to set up the bands of interest. Example, if configured for 137 khz, the RX coverage would be 137khz to 7.0 mhz. The Si570 replaces previously xtal'd LO's. The RF output will be 10 watts. The transceivers are still dependant on a computer sound card interface. Genesis is plan targeting the sale window to be in the early to late fall of 2011. The target price for the kits should be around $300.

The next SDR tranceiver project is G6 which will cover all bands from 137 khz to 70 cm inclusive is on the design board and should materialize sometime in 2012. I think that this one will include on board IQ sound but not sure at this
time.

Not too terribly bad for a part time world wide design team!!!

Regards,

Tom N8TL
