Hi all:

Well, after a few light sprinkles, the WX finally cooperated today.
The cloud cover stayed, so not too hot. Temp about 80 today, great
day for constructing the tilt over base for the new lowFER antenna.
Did quite a bit of stabilizing to the " A " frame mast, and built
the mounts for the side of the mobile home. After about 3 trips to
the DEPOT; I finally had all the parts, that I thought I already
had, ( you know how that goes ). The tilt over base; made from
2 hinges, lots of nuts-n-bolts, "U" Bolts, and tent stakes now
make raising the mast by hand " almost " effortless. Well, that's
without the Top Hat section connected yet. I am exhausted, but
it feels good to feel that I actually accomplished something
today. Still a considerable way to go yet, but slowly getting
closer to having a lowFER signal back on the air.

OK; on the question I asked in a previous post about adding the
wire to the Top Hat cross arms, and angling down at 45 degrees
in toward the antenna mast; Would it help ??
The simple answer is " NO "....a slightly more Techie answer is;
Only if it modifies ( enhances ) the net current distribution at
the top of the antenna. And it was quickly apparent that it would not.

73 to all, and hope the rest of your weekend is blessed:
