Jay:
There is a free copy of the users manual on line but with no schematics. You can buy a reprint copy of this manual from W7FG manuals for around $40. I would suspect it has the schematics and fold outs. I'm thinking of buying one. So that part is covered. However, what Rick and I need is the Service Manual which is an entirely different manual. We both need this manual to help fix our instruments.
I wrote a letter to Rycom about obtaining the needed Service Manual, but, as yet, have not heard back from them.
While we are talking about the Rycom 6040/6041, has anyone installed a common 12 volt gell cell battery other then the Cyclone Hercules called for into their 6040 or 6041? A Gates Cyclone Hercules battery will cost from $40 to $70 PLUS SHIPPING. It would be nice if a modern $20.00 gel cell battery would fit inside the case.
Thanks for the idea, Jay. I'll wait to hear from Rycom and hope they can help. They do have a web site and have manuals available on line, but not for this old type equipment. They seem to be in the underground cable detecting business these days. Maybe there is still hope out there to find a Service Manual to fix our units. Another problem with many reprints is you can't get clear reproduction pictures.

"I have an instruction manual for the Rycom 6041. Unfortunately it's about 50 double sided pages plus
10 fold out schematics/timing diagrams that are 11" X 30" each. Perhaps someone like manualman.com
would be willing to do the reproduction ... unless you have a better idea".
